All multifamily housing entities are required to submit annual electronic financial statement data to HUD. HUD requires these submissions to properly assess the financial health of organizations receiving funding, protect the agency from financial loss, ensure the proper use of revenues and federal funds, and evaluate compliance with various agreements and contracts. Annual REAC filings must be submitted within nine months of the fiscal year end for public housing and four months of the calendar year end for HUD housing.
