Samantha began her public accounting career in 2008, and she joined Maher Duessel in 2011. Named a Principal of the firm in 2024, Samantha directs a wide range of governmental and not for profit audit/tax engagements including counties, municipalities, state agencies, local authorities, human service agencies, member based organizations, private schools, and economic development agencies. In addition to leading general audit/tax engagements, Samantha directs several of the firm's employee benefit plan audits and tax filings for 401(k) and 403(b) plans, and she participates in regular training sessions specific to employee benefit plans.
Due to the federal funding her clients receive, she has comprehensive experience with Single Audits, and she has presented various internal training sessions on Single Audit compliance. Samantha also has the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA's) Advanced Single Audit Certification. Another specialty area of Samantha's is assistance with Annual Comprehensive Financial Reports (ACFRs), as she serves as a Reviewer on the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) Special Review Committee for ACFRs. With her diverse and varied skill set, Samantha is eager to help the firm's clients with a broad range of matters.
