Bob began his public accounting career in 2001 and joined Maher Duessel in 2005. With his longevity at the firm, Bob brings a wealth of knowledge when it comes to the financial reporting requirements of governments and non-profits. He leads audit engagements for a broad base of governmental entities including municipalities, school districts, housing authorities, counties, and municipal authorities. Bob also directs a wide range of non-profit audit and tax engagements including Housing and Urban Development (HUD) funded agencies and human service providers and has specialized knowledge in the requirements of HUD Real Estate Assessment Center (REAC) Filings. With his focus on service to nonprofits and governments, Bob has comprehensive knowledge of Single Audit requirements and regulations. Bob is also a member of the Government Finance Officers Association's (GFOA) Special Review Committee for Annual Comprehensive Financial Reports (ACFRs). He draws upon this experience to lend assistance to his clients with the preparation of their own ACFRs.

With his multi-faceted experience in serving a diverse range of organizations in the public sector, Bob is well versed in the challenges these entities face, and his focus on the unique aspects of governments and nonprofits ensures his clients receive responsive answers to their questions. Named a Principal of the firm in 2021, Bob is the firm's leader in providing specialized services to multifamily housing entities, including financial statement audits, Single Audits, and tax filings. He also has experience directing audit/tax engagements for for-profit housing entities (with many of these entities structured as subsidiaries to the non-profits they support). School districts are another key line of business for Bob. In addition to guiding his school district clients through the required Single Audit compliance areas, he also provides assistance with Annual Financial Report (AFR) submissions. He has a significant understanding of the business operations of school districts, and the challenges that their business offices must meet to comply with regulations.
