Jenn began her public accounting career in 2003, joined Maher Duessel in 2006, and she was named Partner of the firm in 2021. She directs engagements for governmental and non-profit entities, and with approximately 20 years of experience serving the public sector, Jenn is able to provide guidance on a wide range of matters.
Jenn's specialized area of focus is leading audit engagements for governmental entities in Central and Eastern Pennsylvania, including municipalities, municipal authorities, counties, cities, school districts, and state agencies. A long-time member of the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA), along with other associations dedicated to the governmental sector, she regularly presents workshops on accounting and auditing topics. This includes an annual session on behalf of GFOA-PA entitled 'Foundations of Governmental Accounting' which helps to demystify complicated financial reporting concepts. Other associations she has spoken on behalf of include the Pennsylvania Municipal League (PML), Pennsylvania State Association of County Controllers (PSACC), and Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA), among others. Jenn applies her love of teaching and ability to distill complex information into key takeaways that benefit her clients beyond the routine audit process. Jenn's expertise helps her clients focus their time and attention on their big picture goals.
Due to the majority of her clients receiving federal funds, Jenn consistently stays on top of the latest Single Audit reporting requirements and Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) statements. Complying with these evolving requirements often can be burdensome for clients, but Jenn's experience in these areas helps ease any concerns they may face in meeting these challenges. Along with the audit engagements she directs, Jenn also leads consulting engagements for local governments related to assistance with grant accounting, compilations of financial statements, and other accounting assistance.
