Experience you can count on. 

• We perform financial statement audits for several individual state agencies in Pennsylvania, Maryland, West Virginia, and Montana.
• Since 2015, we have performed Disproportionate Share Hospital (DSH) audit services for a State Department of Human Services, an agency serving more than 2.3 million residents, with DSH payments exceeding $700 million. We were the first accounting firm contracted to complete this agency's DSH audit.

• We work with the same state agency to perform audits of cost reports of Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs). The value-added services we have provided to our clients include suggestions for enhancing the current FQHC handbook and recommendations to FQHCs to help them improve their financial reporting processes, ultimately benefiting the agency.

• We performed the first engagement for a state agency to audit the 67 county 911 operating centers. We kicked off the project by working with the agency to establish a uniform accounting system and standards manual for the audit program.  We continue to assist with the maintenance and updates of the accounting and standards manual we initially developed while performing annual 911 audit services.
• We assist a state entity with preparation of their Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR) and their Division of Highways with financial statement preparation while providing ongoing assistance to improve internal processes. We also assist other departments in the State with accounting consulting, including projects such as grant accounting assistance, implementation of Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) statements, and guidance on inquiries related to 1099 filings. We have provided interim CFO services to one of the state's component units as well.
