Diane began her public accounting career in 1990, joined Maher Duessel in 1996 and specializes in Single Audits. She previously served as Director of Quality Control for the firm along with being responsible for assuring our compliance with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) Governmental Audit Quality Center. As Partner, Diane led a wide range of governmental and non-profit audit/tax engagements including housing authorities, municipalities, municipal authorities, human service providers, Housing and Urban Development funded entities, and faith based organizations. In addition to her several years of experience overseeing Single Audits, Diane also has the AICPA's Advanced Single Audit Certification. Diane's expertise in Single Audit and Uniform Guidance compliance matters has established her as a thought leader in the industry on a national level. She regularly leads training sessions on these and other governmental and nonprofit accounting and auditing topics. Diane is a highly regarded expert when it comes to virtually every aspect of Single Audit/Uniform Guidance compliance matters.
Now retired from direct client service, as Senior Partner, she now provides technical assistance where needed to support our clients. Diane has a passion for teaching and is an engaging and effective speaker. She regularly speaks at a national level on behalf of professional associations such as the AICPA and various State Societies of CPA's. Diane also speaks on a statewide level on behalf of organizations such as the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA). Her training session topics have included Single Audit Compliance, Uniform Guidance Updates, and Fraud Prevention Tactics for Governments and Non-Profits. In 2023, Diane was named an Outstanding Discussion Leader by Surgent, a provider of accounting and financial education.
